Whoever thinks poetry is boring never tried Blackout Poetry! Blackout Poetry was created by writer Austin Kleon when he had a bad case of writer's block. He used a discarded newspaper to find words or phrases that stood out to him and crossed out the unnecessary text. The result? A poem! Watch this time-lapse video showing the process.
This type of "found poetry" was very popular with the 4th and 5th graders. Take a look at some of their work!
