This year, I am working with the third grade team on their math goal, which involves increasing achievement in 3-digit subtraction. To accomplish this goal, as well as my personal goal of teaching students to become more proficient with Google Apps for Education, the third graders used Google Slides to create a subtraction game using 3-digit numbers.
Each third grade student worked with a partner during their Media time to come up with a problem, offer 3 possible answers (one of which was the correct answer), and create three slides in Google Slides: the “problem" slide, the “incorrect answer” slide, and the “correct answer” slide. By learning how to link, we put all the slides together to design a flashcard-type game. This game will be available on my website for the third graders, as well as anyone else, to practice their 3-digit subtraction. Go ahead and test your knowledge below! Open the full screen mode and be careful where you click. Good luck!
